New verse

Here is the new verse for me to memorize. You'll see it on the sidebar for the rest of the year. It has many implications for me, not just as a believer in Christ, but also for me as a mom, and wife, and worker, and friend. It's amazing how God's Word applies to every situation. His word is completely logical and applicable. Praise His name!

Psalm 103:17-18
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting
on those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children's children.
To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.

Hosea 10:12

I attended a new Bible Study tonight. It was small - just 5 women - desiring to sit at the feet of Jesus with our mouths open so that we may be filled. After going I realized how off I am. I have been living the life of a Christian floating by the intended harbor and missing the mark. I have been sitting back believing that I'm okay. I'm not okay. I'm a fallen creature. Filthy. What is even worse is that I know what I need to do to be drawn closer to my Savior. Funny thing is - I cannot draw myself. The Holy Spirit draws me. When you want to become closer to someone (in this case - Jesus) you spend as much time with them as possible. You desire to spend every waking moment of your time with them. You can't get enough. You are never satisfied.

I desire that in my relationship with my Jesus. I want to know Him. I want to have that understanding of Him. I want His thoughts to be my thoughts. I want to be led by Him. I want to be saturated by Him until I'm overflowing.

The time to start is now. I am serious. I am building an altar to the Most High for here is where I start. I will come back to this place as a reminder. I'm not turning back! Amen Lord Jesus - only with Your help!

Hosea 10:12
Sow for yourselves righteousness Reap in mercy;
Break up your fallow ground
For it is time to seek the LORD

Till He comes and rains righteousness on you!

Thanks Mr. Bush

In light of last week's inauguration I saw this tonight and wanted to post it. It seems the country is very divided about our old administration and the new that has just begun it's term. I've heard very negative comments about President Bush all throughout his term in office, but especially these last few months. A friend posted this on her facebook account, and I wanted to post it to my blog.

Whether or not you agree with every decision that was made by President Bush, he was the one who had to make the decision for the good of an entire nation that would ultimately affect the world. When it came down to it he was willing to make the hard decisions. Making those hard decisions is what ages our presidents to look in four years what a normal person would looked like in eight. Then take into account a 8 year administration.

That being said - I am thankful for what you have done. I am sorry that so many have forgotten all that you brought us through so early in you term (9/11, catching Saddam Hussein, etc.)

I hope, Mr. President Bush, that you got a great night sleep on Tuesday night. It's not your watch anymore. The torch has been passed. Thank you for your service. God Bless you and your family.

The song is written by Steven Curtis Chapman and was found on Youtube.com

Dadsense!

Okay - hopefully you've seen Momsense by Anita Renfroe. If not, look it up on youtube.com. It's hilarious!

So Anita Renfroe did a Dadsense. What the normal dad says to his kids in a 24 hour period. My husband is definitely different that the perceived "normal" man.

I just needed to post this... a bit of levity in the midst of my chaotic life.

Whew!!!!

I tell you what - there are sometimes that I am simply exhausted. I have one primary reason for my exhaustion. We call him Chopsy. Last weekend we went to visit my BFF and her crew up north. I think she caught a glimpse of why I'm always so exhausted. Chops is in to everything. This past weekend he sampled some goodies from the toilet while I was out getting my haircut. He has taken eggs out of the frig on several occasions to have breakfast - unfortunately they were raw and soon all over the floor. He has also stuck foreign objects up his nose, fallen on his head several times, and puts EVERYTHING in his mouth - usually with the intent to ingest.

Thankfully, he has a very sweet demeanor. He will come up to me out of the blue and wrap his little arms around my legs and say, "I wuv you, mommy!" Those times are the times that I have to remember when I'm ready to hang him from his toes. I know this won't last long. We are bound to move on to bigger and more serious things. At that time I'll need to sit back with a cup of something warm and reminisce about how silly I was to be so frustrated over his mischief and probably wish that I was back in the easy days of his twos.

SNOW DAY!!!

Last night we arrived home from our trip, exhausted, but grateful for the fun we had. As I drove home from our trip I was intrigued by the teams of salt trucks lined up at the side of the highway ready for the word to start spreading the melting agents and sand for traction. Growing up on the coast of Lake Erie I recognized the clouds before me filled with snow just waiting to dump their white fluff down on us. Because we live so far south we rarely get snow. I didn't consider that we would be under a snow advisory as soon as arriving home. The entire night I kept the tv on just to watch the scrolling warning at the bottom of the show.

This morning I woke up to the radio intent on listening for the words that schools were closed due to the 3-5 " that was being forecast for this area. I received an automated phone call from my school system to inform me that school was canceled for today. Ahhh! I turned the radio off and rolled over to enjoy my covers and a few more minutes of sleep.

My hubby got up to let out the dog to give me a few more minutes of rest. When he returned to our room I asked how much snow we had. He said, "None. Not one flake." I'm not complaining in the least. I would like the snow, but one extra day at home to spend with my boys is what I really love. What's even better is my hubby's boss called right before he went to work and said that his office decided yesterday to follow whatever the schools did - so it turns out that he didn't have to go to work either! He did go in... just to get a few things done - but it won't be a regular work day.

Pictures of our snow day.
Not too good for a sled this time.

What a weekend!!!

This weekend we drove north to visit my best friend and her crew. What a weekend it was! I don't think anyone slept past 6:30 or 7:00 am because of a small child or dog (both mine). The boys had a blast! We didn't even really leave the vicinity of the house except for a jaunt to the park on a REALLY cold day, a trip to church on Saturday evening, and a stop to Target for some necessities.

We laughed, the kids wrestled, we bowled and raced, we watched, we laughed some more, we talked, we reminisced, we sought advice, we worshiped, we caught up, we had a blast!

Thanks for the GREAT time this weekend Heather. We are so blessed to call your family "family". Jesus has given me such a beautiful gift in our friendship.

Thanks again. We are looking forward to spring!

Love you-
G

I {heart} faces

I have a best friend who told about this on her blog. I decided to enter. This is my son. Mischief lies behind those eyes. Don't be fooled.
